1965 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible (Fleetwood)
Description
This 1965 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible is one of only 2,125 produced for the model year and represents one of the most elegant full-size American convertibles of the mid-1960s. It remained with the original owner’s family until shortly before the selling dealer acquired it in 2025, giving it especially appealing long-term provenance. Recently repainted in deep black, restoring its factory Sable Black appearance, the car is complemented by a fresh beige power-operated soft top and matching black boot. Styling details such as vertically stacked quad headlights, graceful tailfins, rear fender skirts, Soft Ray glass, and extensive chrome trim make this Eldorado one of the most visually striking Cadillacs of its era.
The 429ci V8 with four-barrel carburetor produces the smooth, powerful performance expected from a top-tier Cadillac, while the three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission delivers relaxed and refined operation. A new battery was installed in early 2025, and the drivetrain retains the big-car authority and easy cruising character that made the Eldorado such a prestigious grand tourer. The car was clearly designed for comfort, effortless torque, and commanding open-road presence rather than aggressive driving.
Inside, the car features a power-adjustable split front bench and rear bench upholstered in rich white leather, accented by chrome and woodgrain trim across the dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes power windows, power door locks, AM/FM radio, and automatic climate control, while the carpeting has been replaced and the steering wheel repaired. A non-functional clock and cruise control are noted, but the interior remains highly attractive and in keeping with the low odometer reading. Combining limited production, family ownership history, strong styling, and full Cadillac luxury, this Eldorado Convertible is a highly desirable 1960s American classic.
