1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible
Description
This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible is an extraordinary time-capsule example showing just 26 documented miles and representing one of the most preserved survivors of Cadillac’s final full-size open-top era. Finished in Firethorn Metallic with elegant pinstriping and a crisp white power-operated soft top, the car presents almost like new and spent nearly three decades in the private collection of a Thomas Cadillac dealership owner in California. Exterior details include chrome bumpers, remote-controlled mirrors, fender-mounted light monitors, Twilight Sentinel headlights, and an overall level of preservation rarely seen on any car of this age. Minor updates include refinishing of the bumper filler panels, while an inoperative power antenna is noted.
The car rides on 15-inch steel wheels with black covers and Vogue whitewall tires, and an extra set of chrome steel wheels accompanies the sale. Power comes from the 500ci V8 with Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, paired with the three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Fresh brake and power-steering fluid changes, heater-core replacement, and air-conditioning service performed in January 2025 support its exceptional mechanical presentation. Like all Eldorados of this period, it combines front-wheel drive, a massive V8, and a uniquely smooth, floating ride quality.
Inside, the cabin is upholstered in White Sierra Grain leather on a power-adjustable front bench seat and remains exceptionally fresh, consistent with the astonishing mileage. Features include automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, power trunk release, AM/FM radio, illuminated thermometer, and Twilight Sentinel system. The layout is spacious, formal, and unmistakably Cadillac. As a nearly new survivor from one of the final great American luxury-convertible years, this Eldorado is an exceptional collector piece with tremendous rarity and preservation value.
