1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car
Description
The 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car is an extraordinary ultra-low-mileage survivor finished in white with a matching white vinyl landau roof and contrasting red interior details. As one of the final truly massive American luxury sedans before downsizing, it delivers the full formal Lincoln experience with concealed headlights, opera windows, chrome bumpers, turbine-style wheels, and a broad, elegant silhouette. With only 3,700 miles shown, it stands as a near time-capsule example of late-1970s luxury.
Power comes from Lincoln’s carbureted 400ci V8, paired with a 3-Speed Automatic transmission. The drivetrain is designed for whisper-quiet, low-stress cruising and is perfectly suited to the Town Car’s mission as a smooth, imposing boulevard sedan. A replacement A/C compressor and R134a conversion help preserve everyday usability.
The interior is upholstered in white leather with dark red carpeting and dashboard accents, along with woodgrain trim and a full complement of period luxury equipment. Features include power-adjustable Twin Comfort Lounge seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, power accessories, Cartier clock, and a factory AM/FM stereo with Quadrasonic eight-track player. This is a remarkable preserved example of Lincoln’s final full-size luxury-sedan era.
